Symbolic History & Interpretations

The Swastik, derived from Sanskrit, features an intricate pattern of intersecting lines forming a distinctive cross-like shape with arms bent at right angles. "Four “L” shape arms of Swastik stands for Luck, Light, Love and Life. With ancient origins in civilizations like the Indus Valley and Mesopotamia, the Swastik's pattern varies across cultures, but its positive connotations remain consistent.

 In Hinduism, the clockwise Swastik is one of the 108 symbols of Hindu Lord Vishnu, symbol of sun and moon.  The anticlockwise Swastik called , represents goddess Kali.

In Buddhism, the Swastik is a symbol of good fortune, prosperity, abundance and eternity. It is directly related to Buddha and can be found carved on statues on the soles of his feet or his heart. It is believed to contain Buddha’s mind.

In Christianity, it often is used as a curved version of Cross and is widely visible in ancient churches of Roman and Golthic eras.

Science is not far behind in this symbol. The famous mathematics concept of Fibonacci and golden ratio are inbuilt in Swastik.
