Environmental wellness involves living in harmony with the Earth. The golden ratio, closely related to the Fibonacci sequence, is often seen in the design of natural structures such as the branching of trees, the arrangement of seeds in a sunflower, and the patterns of hurricanes. It illustrates nature's inherent order and inspires us to align our actions with these natural principles, promoting sustainable practices.		The Fibonacci sequence is deeply tied to the principles of mathematics and nature. It stimulates curiosity, critical thinking, and intellectual exploration. The sequence’s application in art, architecture, and biology promotes an appreciation for patterns, symmetry, and order in the universe.

FIBONACCI-SACRED GEOMETRY

The Fibonacci sequence symbolizes the inherent order and harmony in nature, illustrating how growth and patterns emerge organically in everything from the petals of a flower to the spiral of galaxies.

The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones, starting from 0 and 1. Mathematically, it goes like this: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and so on. This sequence is more than just a numerical curiosity; it holds deep symbolic significance that resonates through nature, art, and human culture. 

The Fibonacci sequence serves as a bridge between mathematics and the world around us, symbolizing a universal language of creation, growth, and harmony. Its patterns can be seen in the minute details of a flower's arrangement as well as the grand structure of galaxies, reflecting the concept that beauty and order are intrinsic to the fabric of the universe. The sequence is a testament to how deeply mathematics and nature are intertwined, reminding us of the hidden symmetries and relationships that define existence.

Symbolic History & Interpretations

The name ‘Fibonacci’ is due to a 13th-century Italian mathematician Leonardo of Pisa, who later came to be known as Fibonacci. However, Indian scriptures find the earliest mention of  ‘Fibonacci numbers’ in the 2nd century BCE work of Acharya Pingala.

The Fibonacci sequence has often been seen as a representation of the natural order of creation. It symbolizes how life forms and develops in a way that reflects an inherent structure and logic.

The ratio of consecutive Fibonacci numbers approaches the ‘golden ratio’ or phi = 1.618. (In mathematics, two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities; that is, (a+b)/a = a/b; if a is larger than b). This ratio is symbolic of perfection, balance, and aesthetic harmony.

Pattern on the conch, arrangement of leaves on a stem, branching in trees, sunflower, shape of galaxies, even human body structures and DNA along with the arrangement of piano keys  all depict Fibonacci sequence. 

Spiritually, the golden ratio has for centuries represented perfect harmony, or the most attractive proportion in almost all the things. It is a form of natural movement of energy and depicts that the designs in nature accomplish specific goals with the minimum of resources and energy.

Observing clearly at the design, one can see two series of Fibonacci joined in centre to form Gopadma.. Symbol to show Cow’s feet. Symbol of purity, motherhood and ahimsa.
